A must see! Experience the sights and sounds of Te Puia, Rotorua, part of Rotorua’s Whakarewarewa Valley world famous volcanic zone. On our arrival at Te Puia we experience a traditional Maori welcome, followed by a cultural performance that showcase’s traditional Maori dance, songs and the famous haka, see New Zealand’s iconic Kiwi bird, pre-European Maori village, wood carving and flax weaving.
Hear and see the world famous Pohutu Geyser rumbling as it erupts steam and hot water to a height of 30 meters, bubbling mud and boiling hot water pools plus steam vents galore are some of the things you will experience.
On our tour we explore Rotorua’s lakefront, hotspots and highlights, visit a Kiwi Fruit Orchard (the region's 2 billion dollar horticultural industry), take in the Lakes district, farmland, native bush, pine plantations and the scenic Redwood Forest (if time allows) before returning you to Port and your waiting cruise ship well before boarding time.
